Man arrested in Nicosia for attacking mobile speed camera operator
Police have arrested a 61-year-old man as part of an investigation into a case of assault, threats, property damage, and public order violations.
The complaint was filed by an employee of the company that operates mobile traffic enforcement cameras. According to him, at around 16:45, he was inside a photo-enforcement vehicle parked in the Nicosia area for traffic control.
An unknown man approached the car, opened the door, and began shouting and threatening the employee. He then grabbed the victim's bag and damaged it.
During the investigation, police identified the suspect. The 61-year-old man was arrested under a judicial warrant, later interrogated, officially charged, and released pending a court summons.
The case is being investigated by the Peristerona police station.
