Wanted woman arrested in Nicosia: drugs, weapons, and scooters found in apartment
Police in Nicosia arrested a 35-year-old woman who was wanted in connection with theft and burglary cases. She was found in the apartment of another 35-year-old man during an operation to gather and verify information.
The woman was detained based on a previously issued judicial warrant. During a search, she was found in possession of two packets containing a small amount of a crystalline substance, suspected to be amphetamine, as well as a small amount of dry cannabis.
The owner of the apartment was also arrested. He is suspected of assisting after the commission of a serious crime.
During the search of the apartment, police officers discovered a firearm, the origin and construction of which are currently being determined, a shotgun, as well as several electric scooters and bicycles. The suspects could not provide satisfactory explanations regarding their origin.
Both detainees remain in custody. They are expected to be brought before the Nicosia District Court today for a remand hearing.
The investigation is being continued by members of the Nicosia Criminal Investigation Department (CID) in cooperation with the Drug Law Enforcement Unit.
