In Nicosia, a school bus caught fire during transit on Friday morning
An emergency occurred in Nicosia on Friday morning when a school bus caught fire while in motion. Fortunately, none of the students were harmed.
According to the police press service, information about the school bus fire, which was moving through the roundabout of the "Filoxenia" conference center in Aglantzia, was reported to the emergency services around 7:30.
The bus driver noticed the fire promptly and stopped the vehicle. The students on board immediately evacuated the bus engulfed in flames. Firefighting services quickly arrived at the scene and began extinguishing the burning bus.
At the moment, it is known that the fire started in the rear part of the bus, in the engine compartment, and spread inside the vehicle.
By 07:36, the fire was localized. No injuries were reported as a result of the incident. Authorities, in collaboration with the police and the electromechanical service, are investigating the causes of the fire.
