The Cyprus Traumatology Center has opened in Nicosia
President Nikos Christodoulides of the Republic of Cyprus participated in the official opening ceremony of the Cyprus Traumatology Center at Nicosia General Hospital.
In his welcoming speech, the head of state stated that the establishment of the Pan-Cypriot Traumatology Center, specializing in providing emergency care to patients, marks a significant milestone for Nicosia General Hospital.
"We consider it our duty as a state to ensure the provision of quality specialized services to citizens and to provide timely access to them," stated the president.
The head of state congratulated all those who contributed to the establishment of the center, including the National Traumatology Committee and the medical personnel.
According to data announced at the opening ceremony, since September 19, 2022, the Traumatology Center has provided assistance to 530 injured individuals, with 125 of them in critical condition and 107 lives saved.
It was also announced that starting next Monday, the Emergency Medical Service will operate a rapid response brigade of rescue motorcycles to swiftly respond to critical incidents during peak hours.
"You know how crucial it is to respond promptly to such injuries," emphasized the president.
