Hundreds of dangerous buildings in Lefkara — authorities raise the alarm
Hundreds of dangerous buildings have been recorded in the Lefkara municipality, some of which are in critical condition.
According to the mayor, in Pano Lefkara alone there are about 555 historical buildings, a significant portion of which require urgent intervention.
The problem also affects other areas — Vavla, Lageia, Skarinou, Kornos, Delikipos, and Kato Lefkara.
Authorities warn that inaction could lead to tragedies. At the same time, it is emphasized that demolition is a last resort, as these buildings represent architectural heritage.
The mayor calls for accelerated inspections and concrete measures to ensure the safety of residents.
