Cyprus to Establish Embassy in Kazakhstan
Cyprus authorities have decided to open an embassy in Kazakhstan. According to the official representative of the government, Konstantinos Letimpiotis, Central Asia is given priority as one of the pillars of the country's foreign policy.
"Considering our desire to have a voice and play a role in the events in the region that directly or indirectly affect us, Cyprus's diplomatic presence in Kazakhstan is significant. With the recovery of the Cypriot economy, political considerations require strengthening Cyprus's presence in Central Asia," stated the government's official representative.
It is worth noting that in early December of this year, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Murat Nurtleu, met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Cyprus, Konstantinos Kombos.
During the negotiations, the parties discussed several important issues related to Kazakhstan-Cyprus relations. At that time, it was reported that to enhance bilateral cooperation, the Republic of Cyprus intends to open an embassy in Astana next year.
