35-Year-Old Cypriot Detained at Athens Airport After Duty-Free Incident
A serious incident occurred at Eleftherios Venizelos Airport in Athens. A 35-year-old Cypriot man caused a disturbance in the duty-free area, sparking alarm among passengers.
According to Greek media, the man was in a state of severe emotional distress: he was throwing and breaking items, and at one point, he attempted to smash bottles against his own head.
The situation was brought under control thanks to passengers and an airport employee who restrained the man until the police arrived.
Law enforcement officers arrived on the scene and detained him, after which the incident was fully resolved.
