Severe accident on the Limassol highway: driver had both legs amputated
Limassol Traffic Police, together with the Episkopi police station, are investigating the circumstances of a serious road accident that occurred around midnight on the motorway towards Limassol.
The crash happened near the exit to the village of Erimi. According to preliminary data, a car driven by a 30-year-old man, for reasons not yet established, left the roadway and crashed into a metal road barrier, after which it came to a stop.
The fire service was called to the scene to free the driver from the wrecked vehicle. The victim was urgently transported in critical condition to Limassol Hospital. Due to the severity of the injuries, doctors had to amputate both lower limbs.
The man’s condition is assessed as extremely critical. Police continue the investigation to determine the exact causes of the accident.
