Dogs Involved in Limassol Attack to Be Euthanized

Police have decided to euthanize three dogs that attacked a woman and two children in the Moni area of Limassol.

The incident took place on Sunday morning, when the dogs attacked a kindergarten employee and two young boys. All three victims sustained injuries, prompting immediate action by the authorities.

Veterinary Services examined the dogs and determined that they were crossbreeds of banned breeds—specifically Pit Bulls and Dogo Argentinos, both of which are prohibited under Cypriot law.

The police have since sent an official letter to the Moni Community Council, confirming that the animals belong to restricted breeds and will be euthanized in accordance with the law.

Cyprus enforces strict regulations on dangerous dog breeds, and the ownership, breeding, and housing of potentially aggressive dogs is tightly controlled under national legislation.
