Fatal Accident Near Xylofagou Exit: 58-Year-Old Deryneia Resident Dies

The British bases have released the identity of the man who died on Friday evening on the highway near the first exit to Xylofagou. The victim was 58-year-old Manolis Constantinou from Deryneia.
The fatal accident occurred around 21:45 on the eastbound side of the highway. Authorities reported that the man was changing a car tire in the left lane when he was struck and killed by a passing vehicle.
The driver of the vehicle underwent alcohol and drug tests — both results were negative. Nevertheless, he remains in custody until the case is heard in court later today.
An autopsy to determine the official cause of death is scheduled for the afternoon.
