Cyprus Schools on High Alert After Receiving Bomb Threats
Schools across Cyprus were placed on high alert Tuesday morning after receiving new bomb threat letters. At least 15 educational institutions reported receiving the alarming messages.

According to the police, the emails contained threats of violence, along with references to extremist ideologies. Authorities are treating the situation as a serious security threat and have activated their response protocols for such incidents.
In response to the threats, a crisis center has been established under the leadership of the Assistant Police Chief for Crime Prevention. Specialized personnel are coordinating efforts to assess the severity of the threats and ensure the safety of the schools.
In the affected schools, security measures, including additional patrols, have been stepped up. The police are in close communication with the Ministry of Education to manage the response and provide guidance to school administrators.
It’s worth noting that similar threats were sent to educational institutions across Cyprus on May 17, 2024.
The government is urging the public to stay calm as law enforcement continues its investigation.
