From Monday, new traffic cameras will be operational in Limassol
In Limassol, starting from Monday, the system of traffic violation detection cameras will expand. Five additional devices will be activated in two locations.
In particular, three cameras will be installed at the intersection of Vasilios Georgiou Avenue and Kristaki Kranou Street, which will monitor violations related to running red lights, crossing white stop lines, and exceeding the speed limit.
Additionally, two more cameras will monitor the same violations at the intersection of Archbishop Makarios III Avenue and 28 October Avenue.
It is noted that mobile cameras are already used to control speed in the Limassol area.
Stationary monitoring devices are already installed in eight different locations in the city.
Authorities expect that expanding the video surveillance system will help reduce the number of serious and fatal road traffic accidents.
