Police Identify Individual Behind Threats to Cyprus President
The police of the Republic of Cyprus have issued an arrest warrant for an individual who sent threatening messages to President Nikos Christodoulides. Early investigations suggest that the suspect used an internet service provider based in the northern part of the island.

According to the official statement from the police, evidence was gathered during the investigation, pointing to a specific individual. The suspect is now being investigated for making threats, conspiracy to commit a criminal act, and attempting to interfere with judicial processes.
It’s worth noting that the threats targeting the Cypriot leader were reported over the past weekend. Preliminary information suggests that the unknown perpetrators reached out to the president through social media platforms. President Christodoulides himself confirmed receiving the threats.
The investigation is being led by the Cybercrime Unit at police headquarters, along with other relevant law enforcement agencies. In the interest of the ongoing investigation, no further details have been released.
