Police search home of lawyer Nicos Clerides in 'Sandy' case
In Nicosia, police searched the home of lawyer Nicos Clerides as part of the investigation into the "Sandy" case. The search warrant was issued by the Nicosia District Court around 01:00 AM on Holy Saturday.
According to lawyer Christos Clerides, the timing of the warrant's issuance raises questions, as it was chosen during a period when the possibilities for immediate legal appeal are limited.
During the search, police officers seized Nicos Clerides' mobile phone. A search of his office is also currently being conducted to seize additional evidence, including USB drives that may contain materials related to other cases.
Clerides' lawyer claimed an unprecedented violation of attorney-client privilege, arguing that the authorities' actions are based on false affidavits and aimed at exerting pressure.
He also alleged possible illegal seizures and an attempt to force his client to comply with an order that the defense considers unconstitutional.
The case continues to be investigated.
