Paphos Police bust illegal gambling establishment
Paphos Police conducted a search in the premises of a cafe hosting an illegal gambling establishment. Five individuals playing dice and the manager of the underground casino were arrested.
During the operation, the police confiscated 104 playing cards and 52 gaming chips. Written charges were filed against all six individuals, who were then released to appear in court later.
One of the six previously faced fines and was released after paying 250 euros.
Police note that measures against illegal gambling and electronic games are typically intensified during the resort season.
