Movement of Animals and Feed Prohibited Across Cyprus Due to Foot-and-Mouth Disease
The Veterinary Services of the Republic of Cyprus have announced the implementation of a pan-Cyprian ban on the movement of animals and feed as part of measures to contain the spread of foot-and-mouth disease.
According to an official statement, any transportation of animals and feed, as well as grazing outside of livestock farms, is prohibited without prior authorization from the Veterinary Services.
The restrictions also apply to the transportation of animals to slaughterhouses.
The Veterinary Services have urged all interested parties to contact the relevant district offices in advance to obtain the necessary permits for each specific case.
