Cyprus-Greece Ferry Service to Launch on May 31
The ferry service between Cyprus and Greece will begin operations on May 31, 2025. The ferry will run between Limassol and Piraeus until September 2.
The announcement of the service's resumption in 2025 was made by Marina Hadjimanoli, Deputy Minister of Shipping, and Scandro Holding Ltd., the service’s contractor. The goal of restarting the ferry route is to offer a reliable alternative to air travel for the public.
Last year, the Council of Ministers decided to extend the ferry contract for another three years (2025–2027). The government will provide annual subsidies totaling €5.5 million for this service, which is classified as a Service of General Economic Interest (SGEI).
According to the Deputy Minister, over the past three years, 22,582 passengers, 772 pets, and 7,641 vehicles have used the ferry service.
