Advisory Issued for Cypriots in Wildfire Zones in Greece
The authorities of the Republic of Cyprus have issued an advisory for citizens currently in areas affected by wildfires in Greece. As of now, there have been no reports of Cypriots being harmed by the ongoing emergency.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Cyprus is maintaining close contact with Greek authorities through its embassy in Athens and is closely monitoring the situation as severe wildfires continue to rage in northeastern Attica.
Ministry spokesperson Theodoros Gotsis stated that no requests for assistance from Cypriots have been received so far.
Cypriots in the northeastern Attica area are advised to carefully follow the instructions of Greek authorities, stay updated on new developments, and, if necessary, call the European emergency number 112.
