There has been an increase in robberies committed by teenagers in Cyprus.

Ayia Napa, a popular resort in Cyprus, is experiencing a series of alarming incidents involving teenagers and young adults. Between July 1 and 3, three serious assaults were reported, leaving tourists injured: a 23-year-old Nepalese citizen and a 17-year-old Hungarian tourist ended up in intensive care with severe head injuries. In both cases, the attackers were groups of teenagers, some of whom have been detained, while others are still wanted.

Police also uncovered a previously unreported beating that occurred on June 7, involving eight individuals dressed in black. One suspect has been identified, and the rest are being sought.

A separate incident took place on July 1: two young men reported that nightclub security took them outside, beat them, and stole more than 900 euros. A 46-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of assault.

This series of assaults is causing serious concern among tourists and locals. Authorities are increasing patrols to restore a sense of safety at the resort, which is vital to the Cypriot economy.
