Dog attacks 2-year-old girl in Cyprus
On Sunday morning, during a family walk near the Fini waterfalls (Limassol), a dog off-leash attacked a child. The girl suffered multiple bites on her legs, underwent surgery, and was transferred to Makarios Hospital in Nicosia. Her condition is stable, and there is no threat to life.

The dog belongs to a 24-year-old woman. She was detained by the police, and the animal was seized and placed in a private shelter pending investigation.
According to documents, the dog is registered as an American Staffordshire Terrier. However, authorities suspect it may be a pit bull — one of the prohibited breeds. If substitution is confirmed, additional charges will be filed against the owner.
The woman is currently charged with “careless and reckless actions” and keeping a dog without supervision. The case has been referred to court.
