Roadworks and temporary traffic restrictions continue in Cyprus
Large-scale road and infrastructure works continue in Cyprus, leading to temporary traffic restrictions in several areas.
In Larnaca, work continues until the end of April on the Larnaca Airport — Paralimni highway, as well as on a section of the Larnaca — Dhekelia coastal road, where traffic on some segments is completely closed and diverted via bypass routes. Additionally, work is underway in the city on the sustainable urban mobility project, involving the construction of new pedestrian crossings, cycle paths, and bus lanes.
On the Larnaca — Nicosia highway, emergency gates are being installed in the central reservation until the end of May. The works take place day and night, with partial closure of the right lane in certain sections.
On the Limassol — Nicosia highway, road markings are being applied at night until April 30, so traffic periodically flows with one lane closed. Maintenance work also continues on the Limassol bypass and the Limassol — Paphos highway, but these mainly affect the hard shoulder.
In Nicosia, construction of the peripheral motorway continues, along with the long-term reconstruction of Ammochostou Avenue, where closures and diversion schemes are already in place.
In Paphos, the reconstruction of a section of Archbishop Makariou III Avenue in the Konia area continues, where some lanes remain closed.
Authorities urge drivers to closely monitor temporary signs, observe speed limits, and allow extra time for potential travel delays.
