Toilet paper prices have risen in Cyprus
According to the Cyprus Consumer Protection Service, inflation was contained in October. It was 3.5% compared to 4% in September and 2.6% in August.
According to cyprus-mail, in October prices decreased by 28 categories of goods. Of these, 14 increased by more than one percent. Price increases were recorded in 17 categories.
In particular, the cost of fresh fish decreased by 17%, and vegetables - by 13.4%. Pasta fell in price by 4%, and frozen fish and meat - by 3.8% and 3.5%, respectively. The price of bottled water decreased by 1.8 percent. Flour fell in price by 1.6%, and sugar by one percent.
At the same time, the largest increase in prices occurred for toilet paper - by 17.4%. Frozen seafood prices increased by 4%. The price of fabric softeners increased by 3%, gas cylinders increased in price by 2.7%, fresh meat by 1.7%, frozen prepared fish by 1.7%, and Cypriot coffee by 1.5%.
The Price Watch Center noted that there has been a decline in the cost of energy, which has become a major factor influencing the prices of a number of products.
It is also noted that the average cost of a basket of 56 products in three different supermarkets ranges from 232 to 255 euros. The average price of a basket of goods was 247 euros.
