Vivant Medical Investments PLC (VMI) has announced its intention to open the first university hospital in the Republic of Cyprus. This medical facility will be of an innovative type, incorporating not only traditional patient care but also research activities and medical staff training.
The new hospital will cover an area of 18,000 square meters, with the capacity to simultaneously accommodate 200 patients. The medical institution will be located at the entrance to Nicosia, near the Ikea store.
According to the Vice Dean of the Medical School at the European University of Cyprus, Professor Ioannis Patrikios, the new hospital will be equipped with state-of-the-art medical diagnostic and treatment equipment and will implement advanced surgical protocols. International accreditation for the university hospital will enable Cyprus to enter the medical tourism market.
The project is expected to cost 80 million euros.
