University Entrance Exams Commence in Cyprus: Over 5,000 Applicants Participating
The 2024 entrance exams for state universities in Cyprus and Greece begin today, with 5,352 candidates having applied for admission.
On Monday, June 10, 2,142 applicants will take the English language exam, kicking off this year's Pan-Cyprian entrance exams.
To mark the start of the exams, the Minister of Education, Sports, and Youth, Athena Michaelidou, visited Kykko II High School in Engomi at 7:30 AM.
Dimitris Chadiotis, Head of the Examination Service, told KYPE that everything is ready for the 2024 Pan-Cyprian entrance exams.
"We begin on Monday, June 10, with the English language exam, and the entrance exams will conclude on June 28 with the Common Core mathematics exam. We hope everything will go smoothly, as in previous years," he added.
The results of the entrance exams in Cyprus are expected in the third week of July.
Notably, this year there are 5,352 candidates for admission to state universities in Cyprus and Greece, compared to 5,250 in 2023, 5,202 in 2022, 5,559 in 2021, and 5,465 in 2020.
Previously, it was reported that approximately 5,600 applications were submitted for the 2024 Pan-Cyprian entrance exams (PEP) for admission to higher education institutions in Cyprus, military academies, and higher education institutions in Greece.
