Ministry: Animals Culled in All Infected Farms in Livadia, No New Cases Detected
In Cyprus, on March 29, 2026, the Ministry of Agriculture announced the complete disposal of animals in farms where positive samples were confirmed in the Livadia (Λιβάδια) area.
According to official information, authorized services carried out the culling of all animals in the identified positive units as part of measures to limit the spread of the disease — foot-and-mouth disease (aphthous fever). The Ministry notes that these actions were taken solely as a sanitary measure to localize the outbreak and prevent further transmission of the pathogen.
The press release emphasizes that as of the time of publication, no additional new cases of the disease have been registered. Further monitoring and laboratory testing continue in accordance with established observation and control protocols.
The information disseminated by the Ministry of Agriculture is official; further updates will be published by the competent authorities. For farmers and animal owners, instructions and orders published by specialized services are relevant — recommendations and requirements should be followed for the purposes of public and veterinary safety.
