Cyprus Firefighters Rescue Man from Deep Sewer Pit
Firefighters in Cyprus saved a man who had fallen into a deep sewer pit, with their swift response proving critical in saving his life.
According to Fire Department spokesperson Andreas Kettis, the incident occurred last night in Alhambra. The rescue operation began at 9:43 PM, when a Nicosia fire crew, along with a rescue vehicle, was dispatched to assist a man who had fallen into a four-meter-deep septic tank.
The accident happened after the roof of a structure in a house’s yard collapsed, causing the man to plunge into the wastewater system. Firefighters used a specialized rescue harness to lift him to safety. Once pulled to the surface, he was handed over to paramedics, who transported him to Nicosia’s emergency department for medical evaluation and care.
