Cyprus Aims to Become an International Cruise Hub
DP World Limassol has presented an ambitious plan to develop cruise tourism in Cyprus. The goal is to make the island one of the key destinations for premium cruises in the Mediterranean and transform Limassol port into an international cruise center.
The focus is on sustainable development: modernizing port infrastructure, implementing eco-friendly solutions, and promoting cultural tourism. The company emphasizes that passenger growth should go hand in hand with preserving the country's natural and historical heritage.
The project involves long-term investments and creating conditions to accommodate luxury cruise liners. The sector’s development is expected to boost the economy — creating new jobs in tourism, hospitality, and retail, as well as additional opportunities for local businesses.
According to DP World Limassol, a sustainable approach will allow Cyprus not only to increase tourist traffic but also to strengthen its position as a responsible and modern destination for international travelers.
