Ikea Cyprus is recalling a potentially dangerous USB charger
The Ikea store in Cyprus is recalling a USB charging device from the market. Customers have been urged to stop using the unsafe charger and to contact the store for a refund.
On January 16, Ikea Cyprus issued a warning to all customers who have the dark gray USB charging device ÅSKSTORM with a power of 40 W, article number 60461197. The product can be identified by the model number ICPSW5-40-1, indicated on the label on the bottom of the charger.
Ikea warned that with prolonged use, the power cable may be damaged or broken if wrapped around the charger or bent back and forth. A damaged cable can lead to burns and electric shock.
"The ÅSKSTORM USB charger in dark gray with a power of 40 W is being recalled, and a full refund will be provided. Proof of purchase (receipt) is not required. For additional information, visit www.IKEA.com.cy or call the Ikea customer support service at 22502502. Ikea apologizes for any inconvenience the recall may cause," the retail network statement said.
