U.S. Citizens in Cyprus Cast Their Votes in Presidential Elections
Today marks the main voting day in the United States for the presidential elections, and American citizens residing in Cyprus can also participate in the electoral process.
According to a post on platform X, the U.S. Embassy in Cyprus is accepting ballots until 5:00 PM today. The announcement indicates that ballots mailed today may be accepted in certain states.
“If you do not have a ballot, absentee voting through the FVAP (Federal Voting Assistance Program) is available at the main entrance of the embassy,” the message states.
Those interested are encouraged to find additional information on the website fvap.gov or by contacting the election offices in their respective states.
This year's presidential election in the U.S. marks the 60th in history. The race for the presidency features former President and businessman Donald Trump, who is the Republican candidate, and current Vice President Kamala Harris, who has stepped in for the withdrawn Democratic candidate and incumbent president, Joe Biden.
