The Iron Fist from TRNC defeated the Tasmanian Devil and became the world champion
Turkish Cypriot boxer Metin Turunc has clinched the world championship title. Known as the “Iron Fist,” he fought for the championship belt at the Boxing Night in Kadykoy, held yesterday in Istanbul.
The athlete from TRNC, also the holder of the European champion belt, managed to defeat his opponent, Pascal Ndomba from Tanzania, known as the "Tasmanian Devil."
"I have been preparing for this moment for a long time. My opponent is strong, but I have trained at the highest level and will do everything possible to win this match," said Metin Turunch.
The fight between the two heavyweights ended in the first round, with the Turkish Cypriot knocking out the Tanzanian and claiming the championship belt.
