Strike at Ektam Kıbrıs Enters 14th Day — Union Announces Protest Action

The strike at Ektam Kıbrıs Ltd. has reached its 14th day. The Emek-İş union, part of the Dev-İş Federation, has announced a protest to be held in front of the Ministry of Interior.
According to the union, the initiative to establish a solidarity fund to support striking workers has faced prolonged delays in approval from the Nicosia District Administration (Kaymakamlık).
In a written statement, Emek-İş expressed that the lack of permission for the fund is creating severe hardships for the workers participating in the strike.
The union stated that, together with supporting organizations including other unions, NGOs, and political parties, they will hold a protest rally.
The demonstration is scheduled for tomorrow at 10:00 AM at the Ministry of Interior building.
