In Lefkoşa, a man sold someone else’s car for 50 thousand lira and was detained
A case of car-related fraud that occurred in the autumn of last year has been uncovered in Lefkoşa.
According to the police, in October 2025 a 33-year-old man identified by the initials M.E. received a passenger car for temporary use from the owner of a car dealership. The vehicle was handed over to him exclusively for use; however, as the investigation established, the suspect sold the car to a third party for 50 thousand Turkish lira, acting with the intent to permanently deprive the owner of his property.
The police became aware of the incident on February 6, 2026, after which an investigation was launched. During оперативные measures, the suspect was identified and detained.
The police continue to investigate the circumstances of the case.
