Garbage Truck Catches Fire in Lefke, Car Destroyed on Kyrenia-Degirmenlik Highway
Last night in Northern Cyprus, two vehicles were destroyed by fire in separate incidents. In Lefke, a garbage truck belonging to Guzelyurt Municipality caught fire, while on the Kyrenia-Degirmenlik highway, a car went up in flames.

According to the police press office, the first fire occurred at around 4:30 PM. The garbage truck was traveling along Aplıç Road in Lefke when it suddenly caught fire. Investigations suggest that the fire was likely caused by an oil leak that came into contact with hot exhaust gases.
Firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and managed to extinguish the blaze. However, the vehicle was completely burned and is beyond repair.
The second fire broke out about 30 minutes later, around 5:00 PM, on the Kyrenia-Degirmenlik highway. A car caught fire due to an electrical short circuit in its system. Thanks to the swift response of the police, firefighters, and forestry officers, the flames were brought under control. Despite their efforts, the car was completely destroyed.
