Major works to restore the water supply system have been completed in the Ayfodi Tepe area of İskele. Thanks to the joint efforts of the İskele Municipality and the Water Resources Department, an old well that had not been functioning for many years was brought back into operation, and a 10-kilometer pipeline running between Kaplıca and Büyükkonuk was completely renewed.

After the repairs were completed, water supply was restored, significantly improving the situation in the villages of Kılıtkaia, Mersinlik, Kaplıca and surrounding areas — especially during periods of summer interruptions.

The local water reservoir was also repaired, and a new filling point for water tanker trucks was set up nearby. A fire hydrant was installed at the site, allowing emergency services to access water more quickly in case of fires.

The works are ongoing — landscaping and infrastructure improvements are being carried out in the area. İskele Mayor Hasan Sadıkoğlu visited the site, thanked the teams for their cooperation and stated that the municipality will continue projects aimed at ensuring an uninterrupted water supply for residents.
