Six-hour power outage expected in Güzelyurt and Lefke on Thursday
The Cyprus Turkish Electricity Authority (Kıb-Tek) has announced a scheduled power outage in the Güzelyurt and Lefke districts. The restrictions are due to general maintenance work on the transformer substation.
According to the authority's statement, the outage is planned for Thursday from 09:00 to 15:00 and will affect several settlements, institutions, and infrastructure facilities.
In particular, areas such as Güneşköy, Aydınköy, Gaziveren, Akçay, Zümrütköy, Upper and Lower Bostancı, as well as the Güzelyurt industrial zone and terminal, Cyprus Health and Social Sciences University (Kıbrıs Sağlık Bilimleri Üniversitesi), Gülkent dormitories, Güzelyurt open market, festival grounds, municipal treatment plants, and several restaurants and residential complexes will be temporarily without electricity.
The outage will also affect the European University of Lefke Agricultural Research Institute (Lefke Avrupa Üniversitesi Tarımsal Araştırma Enstitüsü), veterinary and agricultural services, the Güzelyurt-Bostancı road, the Bostancı border crossing, and water pumping stations located in these areas.
