Doctor and Nurse Detained in Gönyeli Over Illegal Botox Procedures
Doctor T.E. and his nurse wife N.E. have been arrested in Gönyeli on charges of violating the Medical Association Law. The suspects appeared in court.
As police officer Mustafa Sadeli testified in court, on February 21, 2026, the Nicosia Police Crime Prevention Department received information about illegal Botox injections being performed in an apartment in the Ortaköy area. A search was conducted in the apartment based on a court warrant.
Between 16:30 and 17:00, in the presence of the couple, medical supplies and equipment allegedly used for cosmetic procedures without the required membership in the Medical Association were seized: fillers, "rejuvenating" products, injection solutions, syringes, anesthetics, and a notebook containing a list of clients.
The police stated that T.E. gave a voluntary statement, admitting that he lives in Turkey, is a doctor, and came to the TRNC to perform Botox procedures for acquaintances.
The investigation is ongoing. There are plans to interview the individuals whose names appear in the seized notebook. Judge Şevket Gazi ordered that both suspects remain in custody for three days.
