Tajikistan is introducing a visa regime for Turkish citizens
The authorities of Tajikistan have decided to introduce a visa regime for holders of ordinary Turkish passports. The new entry rules will come into effect on April 20th.
According to the local agency "Khovar," citing the Department of Information of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Tajikistan, the decision was made within the framework of reciprocity.
Recall that on April 6th, the Republic of Turkey announced the cancellation of the visa-free regime for citizens of Tajikistan. The new rules will also come into effect on April 20th. According to the decree of the President of Turkey, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, the measure was taken based on the law on foreigners and international protection.
Under the visa-free regime, Tajik citizens with ordinary passports could enter Turkey for 30 days without a visa. Visa-free entry for holders of service passports was available for up to 60 days, and for diplomatic passports, up to 90 days. Turkish citizens could also stay in Tajikistan without a visa for up to 30 days.
