Storm warning remains: weather in Northern Cyprus on January 31st
According to the TRNC Department of Meteorology, Wednesday, January 31st, the region continues to be under a storm warning. The inclement weather will persist at least until this evening.
Today, the region remains under the influence of low pressure, as well as very cold and humid air: heavy rains, thunderstorms, and stormy winds will continue across the country.
According to meteorologists, the storm warning issued yesterday afternoon will be in effect until 18:00 today. Particularly heavy rains and storms are expected in the northern regions. Wind gusts here will reach 62-74 km/h.
Authorities and citizens are advised to take precautions against possible natural disasters, such as heavy hail, lightning, flooding, falling trees, and collapsing structures.
Furthermore, the country has gotten even colder - the maximum air temperature will be only 12-13°C, which is 3-5°C below the seasonal climatic norm.

Northern coast: Kyrenia – 12°C, Lapta – 13°C, Akdeniz - 12°C, Alevkaya - 7°C, Esentepe - 8°C.
Western coast: Lefke – 11°C, Guzelyurt – 13°C.
Central part: Nicosia – 13°C, Ercan – 12°C.
Eastern coast: Famagusta – 13°C, Iskele – 13°C.
Karpas: Yenierenkoy – 11°C.
