Police warn about car sale scams on social media

The police have urged citizens to be especially cautious when purchasing cars through social media. According to the police press service, cases of fraud involving fake car sale advertisements on Facebook and Instagram have increased recently.

Law enforcement authorities report that scammers post fake listings, mislead potential buyers, and obtain money from them before disappearing. As a result, people are left without funds and without a vehicle.

The police recommend not transferring money in advance, carefully verifying sellers and vehicle documents, and, whenever possible, completing transactions only during personal meetings and through official channels.
