Rain Forecasted in Northern Cyprus During Eid al-Fitr
On March 16, 2026, the Director of the Meteorological Department, Sinan Güneş, informed the Cyprus Turkish Agencies (TAK) that showers or thunderstorms are expected in Northern Cyprus starting Wednesday afternoon, with precipitation continuing throughout Eid al-Fitr (Ramazan Bayram).
According to Güneş, "we expect good rainfall during the Bayram."
Air temperatures in coastal and inland areas will remain between approximately 18–21 degrees.
Until Thursday, the wind will blow from northern and eastern directions. During the holiday, the wind direction will shift to the south and west; speeds are expected to be moderate, later increasing to strong winds.
For residents in Northern Cyprus, this means a likelihood of rainy weather during the holidays and a possible increase in wind strength. When planning outdoor activities, the forecast for precipitation and wind should be taken into account, and indoor or sheltered locations should be chosen if necessary.
