In Northern Cyprus, Employees of the Committee on Missing Persons Have Been Without Pay for 43 Days — Strike Announced
Güven Bengihan, head of the civil servants’ union KTAMS and the Public Sector Trade Unions Federation (KİEF), stated that 52 employees of the Committee on Missing Persons, operating under the Presidency of the TRNC, have not received their salaries for 43 days.
According to him, responsibility for the delay in payments lies with the Ministry of Finance, which allegedly does not recognize the president’s signature on the matter.
In connection with the situation, the Committee’s employees announced a one-day strike on Monday, February 16. On the same day at 09:30, a press statement is scheduled in front of the Ministry of Finance building.
