KTTB: Growth in the number of medical schools creates risks for the quality of education and the healthcare system
Kıbrıs Türk Tabipleri Birliği (KTTB) stated that the rapid increase in the number of medical and dental faculties in Northern Cyprus is overloading the system and creating risks for the training of specialists. This was announced by board member Osman Ertuğ Erçal in a statement on the occasion of November 22 — Dentist’s Day.
According to Erçal, the number of educational institutions is growing faster than the state’s and the sector’s ability to provide stable support and oversight. This is causing concern within the professional community and is affecting the overall situation in the healthcare system. He also noted that public dental services operate with limited resources and outdated infrastructure.
KTTB emphasizes that the issue requires a comprehensive approach, as it affects all levels of the healthcare system.
