More than 108,000 people have been evacuated in Kazakhstan due to severe flooding. Over three thousand residents have been rescued from the flooded areas.

According to a press release from the country's Ministry of Emergency Situations, as of this morning, 5,411 private residential houses and 1,607 backyard territories remain flooded.

The ministry emphasizes that 33,000 people and over four thousand pieces of equipment, as well as 11 aircraft, are involved in emergency rescue operations. 1,400 tons of humanitarian aid have been delivered to the affected regions. Nearly 12,000 people have already been able to return to their homes.

It is worth noting that earlier, Kazakhstan's President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev stated that the 2024 flood is the largest disaster in the republic in the last 80 years. A state of emergency has been declared in ten regions of the country.
