Due to a power outage, there have been disruptions in the water supply — the authorities of Northern Cyprus are urging citizens to save water

The Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources of Northern Cyprus has warned of water supply interruptions across the country. The cause was a power failure that affected the operation of pumping stations and other water supply facilities.
In the ministry’s official statement, it was emphasized that a fault in the power transmission lines had disrupted the stable operation of the water infrastructure. As a result, some regions have already experienced interruptions in water supply and a drop in pipeline pressure.
Emergency work is currently underway to restore power and normalize the water supply. However, the ministry noted that the process may take some time, especially in remote or high-altitude areas where water pressure is already unstable.
In this regard, the authorities urged citizens to use water as economically and responsibly as possible. In particular, it is recommended to postpone laundry, car washing, and garden watering until the situation stabilizes.
The ministry assured that it is doing everything possible to promptly resolve the problems and restore normal water supply.
