Road rage under the microscope: Science Cafe on driver behavior to be held in Famagusta
On May 9, Famagusta will host the third Science Cafe event dedicated to the problem of road aggression. The meeting is organized by the Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus Campus in collaboration with the KTMMOB Chamber of Civil Engineers.
The event will begin at 14:00 at Cortado (Kocareis) and will be open to the general public. Its goal is to discuss current social and behavioral issues on a scientific basis.
The keynote speech will be delivered by Professor Bahar Öz. The topic of her presentation is "Anger in Road Traffic: Is it really you behind the wheel?". During the discussion, participants will talk about the causes of aggressive driver behavior, the impact of stress on driving, as well as issues of self-control and mindfulness.
The organizers note that the Science Cafe format allows for the merging of science and daily life, making complex topics accessible to a wide audience. In the future, the program will continue in other cities and cover new topics related to safety and social behavior.
