The Gönyeli-Boğaz road (old Gönyeli road) will be closed to traffic from 18:00 today until Monday due to maintenance work on the ring road.
The statement from the Department of Highways is as follows:
As part of road works connecting the Northern Nicosia Ring Road with the junction and Alayköy, the section of the Gönyeli-Boğaz road (Old Gönyeli Road), shown on the diagram, will be completely closed to traffic. Traffic will be prohibited in both directions — entry and exit — on the section shown in the attached diagram. The works will begin today at 18:00 and will be completed by 6:00 a.m. on Monday. Drivers using this route are strongly advised to proceed slowly and carefully for the safety of their lives and property, and to comply with traffic signs and signals.
