Over 400 drivers fined during police checks in TRNC
The TRNC police summarized the results of large-scale traffic checks conducted across the country. As a result of the raids, 407 drivers were held accountable for various traffic violations, and 57 vehicles were seized from operation.
According to the police, speeding was once again the most common violation. During the checks, 133 drivers were found to have exceeded the established speed limit.
In addition, 12 people were driving under the influence of alcohol. Another six drivers were behind the wheel without driving licenses and insurance policies.
Among other violations:
- 15 cases of driving without insurance,
- 9 drivers used mobile phones while driving,
- 13 people were driving without wearing seat belts,
- 15 vehicles were operated without passing the vehicle inspection,
- 48 vehicles were on the roads without licenses.
The police also recorded instances of reckless driving, running red lights, and disobeying traffic signs. One motorcyclist was stopped for riding without a protective helmet.
Following the checks, administrative procedures were initiated against the violators. The police emphasized that such raids will continue with the aim of increasing road safety and preventing accidents.
