"Atalanta" Wins UEFA Europa League for the First Time in History
Italian football club "Atalanta" has clinched its first-ever European Cup title. In the UEFA Europa League final, coached by Gian Piero Gasperini, they defeated the German side "Bayer."
The match took place on the evening of May 22 at the "Aviva" Stadium in Dublin, Ireland. The match was officiated by a team of referees led by István Kovács. The game ended with a 3-0 victory for the Italian team. Atalanta's forward, Ademola Lookman, secured a hat-trick. He scored the first goal in the 12th minute from a pass by Davide Zapacosta. He then found the net again in the 26th minute, and in the second half, he completed his hat-trick.
This defeat marked the first loss of the season for "Bayer." Prior to this match, Leverkusen had gone undefeated in 51 consecutive games, becoming the champions of Germany prematurely.
It is worth noting that the Russian midfielder Aleksei Miranchuk plays for the football club "Atalanta" but sat on the bench during the match.
Following their decisive victory over the team from Leverkusen, "Atalanta" has won the UEFA Europa League for the first time in its history.
In the semifinals, the Italians defeated the French team "Marseille" (1-1 and 3-0).
