Yes, children are considered separate passengers. The notification text uses the word "Yolcular" — passengers, with no age restrictions. Therefore, the 10,000 EUR limit applies to every person crossing the border, including newborns.

For example, an adult with one child can take out up to 20,000 EUR in cash without declaration: 10,000 EUR for each passenger.

Bringing cash into Northern Cyprus

The same threshold applies for imports: up to 10,000 EUR per passenger or the equivalent in another currency can be brought in without declaration. If the amount exceeds the limit, the passenger must fill out a cash declaration form.

The form is completed in three copies:

• one copy remains with the passenger;
• the second is submitted to the Customs Department;
