Eight Foreigners Named “Tourism Ambassadors” in Ayia Napa

Four pairs of foreigners have been honored as “Tourism Ambassadors” of Ayia Napa due to their frequent visits to the resort. The prestigious titles were awarded to couples from the Czech Republic, the United Kingdom, Wales, and a couple from Finland and Sweden.

The recipients are: Richard and Donna Ford from Wales, who have visited Ayia Napa 27 times; Pavel and Dyba Dyba from the Czech Republic, who have been to the resort 26 times; James and Sonia Tracy-Lavery from the United Kingdom, who have made 20 trips; and Vesa Pekka Veikkolainen from Finland and Asa Susanna Bergvall from Sweden, who have visited 28 times.

The awards were presented by Municipal Secretary Fotos Kikilos, who remarked that the “special preference shown to Ayia Napa by the new ambassadors is an honor for the city.” He added that the new ambassadors are now regarded as “honorary citizens of Ayia Napa, rather than just visitors.”

The new “Tourism Ambassadors” were visibly touched and expressed their gratitude to the Ayia Napa Municipality for the honor.
